Qlab ipad8/14/2023 ![]() The entire NBA season’s crowd sound was handled by Firehouse Productions, a live-event producer that created an array of sounds from the NBA’s own audio library and other sources as well as a content-management/playback system and hired and trained engineers to operate it. Implementation of artificial audience audio - so-called enhanced crowd sound - across major-league sports since COVID-19 shut down most of televised sports in March is transitioning from a novelty to a business sector, evidenced by the number of independent companies moving into the market.įor instance, after the NFL developed its own system for crowd sound for its broadcasts, Fox Sports opted instead to deploy a third-party system from SonoFans, which is also being used for all MLB postseason broadcasts. Joint venture’s system targets a crowd-challenged future Same as I'm interested to hear of any other apps that I may have missed.D&b audiotechnik and Autograph Sound Join Crowd-Sound Sweepstakes MIDIBridge - define your own Virtual MIDI networksĬ74 - Max external that allows control data to be sent from device back to MaxĬontrol (OSC + MIDI) - similar to TouchOSCįantastick - create your own control graphical interfaces I have also found the following utilities really useful and help turn the ipad into a usable sound platform:Īudiobus - how did you work before this utility was available? ![]() MorphWiz - Jordan's latest offering really pushes touchscreen control NodeBeat HD - similar concept to Bloom, but I prefer the output (my kids also love this one) Korg iPolysix - continues the great work by Korg These are the ones I've used so far that have not already been mentioned:Īnimoog - great sounding and offers interesting controlĬubasis - cut down version of full DAW is a excellent sketchpad and compatible with Cubase However, as you pointed out there are now new apps on the market. I recently bought an iPad for doing some sound/control research and used the original post as my starting point for apps to look at. Don't know if that's useful to you, but it's pretty cool. Through it's USB connection you can apparently connect USB audio devices. Also check out the iPad Camera Connection Kit.Space for iPad - The Strange Agency (developers of Curtis) ported their Sound Scope synth over to the iPad, looks incredible.Pianist Pro - Turns your iPad into an external MIDI controller (plus on-the-go piano, arpeggiator, drum machine.).Has potential to make some great pad textures. The playing of which sounds a little out of tune, but I can't tell if that's the sample or the player. MagicFiddle - Smule (devlopers of Ocarina, LeafTrombone & MagicPiano) made an iPad exclusive "string" instrument.ReBirth for iPad - Propellerhead's "Micro Composer" from the late '90s is now available native for iPad.Hope that helps!
